“Project P.E.A.C.H.”
The Food Trust works to improve the health of children and adults, promote good nutrition, increase access to nutritious foods, and advocate for better public policy. Their FSNE project, “Project P.E.A.C.H.” (People Eating and Cooking Healthy), consists of the several components. Adults are reached through partnering with the GPUAC (Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition) to provide nutrition education to parents who are being reunited with their children and through Farmers’ Market Programs in eligible neighborhoods. School-age children are reached through eligible schools and community sites operated by: the Philadelphia Department of Recreation, local school districts (Norristown, Reading and Chester-Upland), the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, and the GPUAC.
