The Food Trust
“Project P.E.A.C.H.”
The Food Trust works to improve the health of children and adults, promote good nutrition, increase access to nutritious foods, and advocate for better public policy. Their SNAP-Ed project, “Project P.E.A.C.H.” (People Eating and Cooking Healthy), consists of the several components. Adults are reached through Farmers’ Market Programs in eligible neighborhoods. School-age children are reached through eligible schools and community sites operated by: the Philadelphia Department of Recreation, local school districts (Norristown and Reading), and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit.
The Food Trust's mission is to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food. As a partner in EAT.RIGHT.NOW., The Food Trust provides nutrition education services in the School District of Philadelphia. Services range from school markets to food tastings and demonstrations to teacher support for lessons and activities.
